Wherever you might be on your faith journey, we invite you to become a part of the CCUMC community. Although you do not have to be a member of CCUMC to worship here, to participate in our many small groups, or to serve others through financial giving or mission outreach, we hope you will consider making a membership commitment.

There are four ways to join CCUMC:

Profession of Faith, for those who are making a first-time commitment to Christ through the sacrament of baptism.

Reaffirmation of Faith, for those who are renewing their earlier commitment to Christ.

Transfer of membership from another United Methodist Church, or from another denomination.

Affiliate or Associate membership for those who part-time residents in the New Smyrna Beach area, want to make a commitment to CCUMC, and also wish to retain membership in their home church. The Affiliate member as someone who keeps their “home” membership in a United Methodist Church and wishes to affiliate with another CCUMC when residing in New Smyrna Beach for a period of time. An Associate member is one who maintains their membership in another denomination and desires to associate with a CCUMC as well.

If you have been baptized at any time in your life, it is not necessary to be baptized again. Those who were baptized as infants or young children are encouraged to participate in a Confirmation Class after which they will be recognized as full members of CCUMC.

Next Steps:

For more information on becoming a member of CCUMC, speak to one of the clergy, speak to an usher, or call the Church Ministries Office during regular hours (386-428-6252). Inquire about a new member class. New members are usually received during worship on the last Sunday of the month.

For those Regular Visiting Guests to New Smyrna Beach who come back to us each year, we don’t want to leave you out! We can list you as a constituent. According to the United Methodist Church, someone who is not a member of the Affiliate Roll or the Associate Roll, but considered the local church’s pastoral responsibility.

While you may not want to formally join the church or even have an affiliate membership, we encourage you to let us list you as a constituent and we will put you on our communications list. So, whether your toes are in the sand at New Smyrna or resting far away, you can keep up with the activities here at CCUMC.
