Welcome to Coronado Community UMC’s (CCUMC) youth fellowship. We exist to provide a fun environment to build friendships and to disciple young people in their Christian walk. Our youth ministry is broken into two age groups with different activities for each group that are specific to that stage of life.
YOUTH SUMMER CALENDAR
· Senior High
“Senior high activities are for all youth 9th grade through 12th grade. Senior High meetings are weekly on Monday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Senior High youth group meetings consist of playing ultimate frisbee and volleyball followed by dinner and a devotional time. The Senior High youth group also does a number of service projects throughout the year and an annual out of country mission project during spring break. Check our seasonal calendar for details on specific events. We hope you will join us at our weekly meetings.”
· Mid-High
“Mid-High activities are for all youth 6th grade through 8th grade. Mid-High meetings are weekly on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. CCUMC will pick up Mid-High students after school at New Smyrna Beach Middle School during the academic year. Students simply need to have a permission form filled out and signed by their guardian to ride the CCUMC bus from NSBMS to the church for youth group (the permission form is good for the school year). Mid-High youth group meetings consist of playing games and sports like basketball, volleyball, and skating with a devotional time called “sanctuary time” and snacks. The Mid-High youth group also does a number of service projects and other fun activities throughout the year. Check our seasonal calendar for details on specific events. We hope you will join us at our weekly meetings.”
All young people are welcome at any of our events and we urge all youth to bring their friends. If you have any questions please contact the Youth Director, Emily Edwards (email). We look forward to meeting you!
Emily & Stu’s Summer Schedule
We will be moving into 214 Columbus Ave. (Sarah’s old house) on Wednesday, June 30 and I will officially start at Coronado on July 1. Stu and I look forward to meeting you all at our first day of worship with Coronado on Sunday, July 4. You are welcome to swing by any time to say hello. My normal work days in the office are Sunday through Thursday.
Stu and I will be traveling to Scott County, TN with a group of teens including Devon Lawler to do a mission project July 10-17. We will be working on impoverished families homes doing everything from painting to roofing. Your prayers for this mission trip are much appreciated.
