Senior High Mission Trip, April 2010
Senior High Youth rebuilt homes and worked on other projects in the Bahamas during Spring break.

Senior High Mission Trip, Spring Break 2010 - A construction based mission trip to Eleuthera,Bahamas.

After many months of preparation, the Senior High Youth Group traveled to the Bahamas Methodist Habitat for a construction mission trip on March 28-April 3. Our Senior Highs were paired with a youth group from Ruskin, LA. For the week, the groups were sent away from the main camp in James Cistern, Eleuthera, to Bluff, a very small town on the northern end of Eleuthera. The groups repaired several homes, including roofing, painting, siding, and plumbing, and tiled bathrooms at John Wesley Methodist Church’s new fellowship hall.  They also worshiped with the church, had morning and evening devotions, and enjoyed recreation on Eleuthera’s pristine beaches. The Youth worked extremely hard and built relationships with one another and with the different group and counselors/staff.  Sarah Campbell, Youth Director, said "I feel we all learned valuable lessons from the Bahamanian people. It was truly a life-changing experience which pushed us out of our comfort zones! In the weeks since the trip, we have continued to reflect on the ways in which this mission trip has shaped our “global perspective”. I would like to thank CCUMC for making this trip possible."
