JUSTICE MINISTRY
Members of the Justice Ministry of Coronado Community United Methodist Church commit to the pursuit of social justice, grounded in Biblical truth and as set forth in the social principles of the United Methodist Church.
We are dedicated to the development and nourishment of individuals who desire to grow in their faith in pursuit of justice for all.
OUR VISION
We will:
- Educate our church and community on the contents of the Social Principles and our role as followers of Jesus Christ.
- Speak to human issues in the contemporary world from a sound biblical and theological foundation as historically demonstrated in United Methodist traditions.
- Practice love and compassion in the world, especially where there is conflict, hate and confusion.
- Pursue peace and justice in our communities, our families, our church and even in our own hearts.
WHY JUSTICE?
As followers of Jesus Christ in the United Methodist tradition, we stand for the dignity of all persons. We recognize that all people are created “in the image of God” (Genesis 1:27).
We seek to recognize injustice, repent from sinful systems and pursue equitable systems that respect the dignity of all persons.
We work toward justice as modeled by Jesus Christ, and we offer testimony for the hope that is within us.
We are dedicated to the development and nourishment of individuals who desire to grow in their faith through the pursuit of justice for all.

Truly I tell you, just as you did
it to one of the least of these,
you did it to me.
Matthew 25:40
We are a “Reconciling Group” within the Reconciling Ministries Network. As committed disciples of Jesus Christ, we strive to transform the world by living out the Gospel’s teachings of grace, love, justice and inclusion for all of God’s children.
We stand in solidarity with all who are marginalized and oppressed as we transform hearts and communities. We dedicate ourselves to this vibrant Wesleyan movement that is biblically and theologically centered, and celebrate the gift of diversity. We will work towards becoming fully inclusive and affirming.
