Thanks to the generosity of those who have contributed to the endowment over the years, we're honored to be able to provide over $30,000 in scholarships annually.

Students interested in applying should do so through their school counseling office.

CORONADO COMMUNITY SCHOLAR

Awarded annually to an outstanding 8th grade African American student at NSB Middle School.

Funds are distributed over four years of college.

BERNICE GROSS-GILBERT & CATHERINE GILBERT SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to an outstanding 8th grade student at NSB Middle School based on financial needs.

Funds are distributed over four years of college.


HOWELL & VERA RAY ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIP(S)

Awarded annually to 3 high-potential seniors at NSB High School enrolled in the Medical Academy, Culinary Academy, and Childcare Academy (one scholarship awarded per Academy)

HOWELL & VERA RAY CUDAS UNHOOKED SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to an outstanding homeless senior at NSB High School


CARL & ELDRED HOLCOMB SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to an outstanding NSB High School student with an active IEP and receiving support services.

LONGSTREET LIFELONG LEARNING

Awarded to a graduate student who has been active at Coronado Community UMC (church staff and families included).

Funds for this scholarship were made available through an endowment from the Longstreet/Paxton family.

MYHRE-BURT MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to an area senior who plans on majoring in music or music education.

Funds for this scholarship are made available from endowments to honor the memories of Elva Burt, James Flores, Velma Myhre, and Dale E. Rush.

PAXTON SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to an active senior who is a Coronado Community UMC partner.
