Special Guest: District Superintendent Gary Spencer
This morning we have the great honor to have our District Superintendent, the Rev Dr Gary Spencer in the pulpit. Dr Spencer was appointed to the Atlantic Central District in 2011. He and his wife, Judy, have two children, Kirby and Katie. Gary is a third-generation Floridian who felt the call to ministry at an early age, and has devoted his life to bringing people into the church and helping them grow in their faith. He joined the Florida Conference in 1979, and began his ministry as associate pastor at First UMC Pompano Beach. He has served the following churches: New Horizon, First Winter Park as an associate, Suntree and First Orlando. He has held a number of district and conference leadership positions, including service on several District Extension and New Church Development boards and chair of the District Board of Ordained Ministry of the former Melbourne District. He served on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry for 10 years and was Chair of the Conference Board of Camps and Retreat Ministries.
