Meet our staff

Reverend Lisa Ann Moss Degrenia

Lead Pastor

[email protected]

Pastor Lisa was born in Tampa, Florida, one of a long line of native Floridians and teachers. She met her beloved Ed on a trip to NYC and they were married ten months later. They are blessed with two grown daughters, two sons-in-love, two dogs, and a brilliant grandchild.

Lisa didn’t grow up attending church and first found God through music. She thought she would be a high school choral director. God had other plans. Lisa received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of South Florida and served as a church music director for six years. Around year 4 of the 6, Lisa heard God calling her to become a pastor. The family refers to this event at the LCD- the life-changing decision. A few months later, Lisa, Ed and their two small daughters left Florida for North Carolina.

In 2000, Lisa received a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School and was later ordained a United Methodist minister in 2003 in the Florida Conference. She’s served congregations in Largo, St. Petersburg, DeBary, Sarasota, and excited to serve alongside the faith-full folks of CCUMC.

In addition to serving as a pastor, Lisa enjoys teaching, photography, theatre, travel, and writing. She is indebted to the many wonderful mentors and teachers in her life, including her mother who first gave her a love for words and adventure.

Reverend Macon Armistead

Minister of Congregational Care

[email protected]

Rev. Macon Armistead received his M.Div. degree from The Divinity School at Duke University in 2017 and is a provisional deacon in the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. Macon’s wife, Amy, is a provisional elder in the Florida Conference and when she received an appointment, the two moved from Montgomery, Alabama to Ormond Beach where Amy is the pastor of First United Methodist of Ormond Beach’s new expression of  church in western Ormond Beach.

When not engaging in the full and life-giving ministry of the Church, Macon enjoys singing, watching movies, and being at the beach is his absolute favorite place in the world — so coming to Ormond Beach/New Smyrna Beach was a big win for him! Amy and Macon met at Duke Divinity and were married in June of 2019. They have an English Shepherd named Nora who loves treats, naps, and chasing her ball.
Originally from Hartselle, Alabama, Macon grew up in the United Methodist Church. Ministry has always been a part of his life, even when he was unaware that this would be his vocation. Some passions in ministry of Macon’s are holy listening, community discipleship, compassion and justice ministries, and vocational discernment. Because of this, Macon is very excited to serve as the Minister of Congregational Care at CCUMC as it seems to be a wonderful fit to express his calling with the calling of CCUMC.
