Reading Assignment: Chapter Three
Evil and injustice bank of people standing by and doing nothing, whether out of fear or convenience. It’s amazing what our conscience can accept when we don’t have to look directly at the abuse. But Jesus calls us to live differently, to confront injustice and stand up for the things Jesus cares about. When Jesus was on trial before the high priest Caiaphas, he knew what was coming. He faced his trial boldly and courageously, even as those he trusted most abandoned and denied him.
Read John 21:5-17

Peter had three times denied knowing Jesus. Here Jesus asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Imagine for a moment that Jesus is asking you this same question, once for each time you have denied him. How would you answer?
