Reading Assignment: Chapter six & seven
Traditionally, Christians have revered the four Gospel accounts of the words Jesus spoke while on the cross:
“Here is your mother” (John 19:27)
“Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34)
“Today you will be with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43)
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46, Mark 15:34 and Psalm 22:1)
“I am thirsty” (John 19:28)
“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit” Luke 23:46
“It is finished” John 19:30
Read the following question. And share your response with a comment: How do Jesus’ words give meaning to the Gospel’s claim of who Jesus is?
