Trio Camino will present a varied and colorful program of classical guitar solos, duets and trios on February 14, 2016. Attending this concert would be a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with that special someone.
The members of this group are David Grimes, Gregory Newton and Michael Nigro. Mr. Grimes was Director of Guitar Studies at California State University, Fullerton, where he developed one of the nation’s leading centers of guitar instruction. For eighteen years, Mr. Grimes was President of the Guitar Foundation of America and now remains as Reviews Editor for the journal Soundboard. Dr. Newton is on the faculties of Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles Valley College and Glendale College, teaching guitar, music theory and music appreciation. He is president of the American Guitar Society and director of the AGS International Concert Series. Mr. Nigro directs the guitar program at Vanguard University where he has established a comprehensive curriculum that includes: Guitar Literature, Pedagogy, Fretboard Techniques and Guitar Ensemble. He is also co-author of “The Essential Classical Guitar Scale Book”. You are encouraged to come and hear these nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians perform.
